BOAT RUNS AGROUND IN ATLANTIC CITY, COAST GUARD MAKES RESCUE

The United States Coast Guard rescued four adults and two children off a boat that ran aground Thursday night just south of Great Island in Atlantic City.  The Guard reports that the individuals in the water were wearing life jackets and all were safely rescued.  The call first came in from the Ventnor Police Department.

CAPE MAY COUNTY TO KICK OFF “WE CHECK FOR 21” EFFORT TUESDAY

Cape May County will hold it’s annual “We Check for 21” effort Tuesday at the Wildwoods Convention Center.  The program attempts to provide business owners with education on how to spot for fake id’s shown by young adults who attempt to purchase packaged goods.  Three programs will be held during the day.

CREST POLICE ALERT MOTEL DISTRICT REGARDING POSSIBLE SCAM

Wildwood Crest Police have issued an advisory on social media regarding a scam that may target local motels.  Police say that some scammers are asking for credit card refunds for motel rooms that were booked with stolen credit cards; they would like the repayment made to a credit card that they may legitimately own.  The…

SEA ISLE ADDS MORE BICYCLE SIGNAGE TO IMPROVE SAFETY

Sea Isle City Police have made an effort to improve bicycle safety in the community.  The city has installed some signage and painted arrows on the pavement that help direct the flow of traffic through the community.  New markings have also been placed on the Promenade every two to three blocks.

SPORTS: LUSHOK NAMED NEW SOCCER COACH AT WILDWOOD CATHOLIC

REPORT: MILLVILLE PAID $1.6 MILLION TO TEAR DOWN BUILDING

Millville paid just over $1.6 million to tear down an old building that was next to a popular city restaurant.  The Daily Journal reports the city made the payment to Perryman’s Excavating to rip down the building on Main Street. $300,000 was spent on various soft costs.

STONE HARBOR BRIDGE DOWN TO ONE LANE THIS MORNING

Emergency repairs are being conducted this morning on the 96th Street Bridge in Stone Harbor.  The bridge will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic until just before lunchtime on Friday; expect delays.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

A 40 year old Egg Harbor Township man has been charged with sharing child pornography images on the internet.  Authorities have charges Matthew Wolny with two counts of receiving child pornography; he is expected to appear in a federal court.  The actions took place in 2013.
