NORTH WILDWOOD POLICE BUST LOCAL MAN FOR ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, SQUATTING

GOVERNOR SELECTS NEW MAN IN CHARGE AT NEW JERSEY TRANSIT

Governor Phil Murphy has selected a new leader of New Jersey Transit.  On Tuesday Murphy introduced Kevin Corbett as the new executive director of the transit agency.  Corbett has worked for a consulting company that has performed work for NJT.

LBI BEACH REPAIR PROJECT TO USE DREDGED MATERIALS

A big beach project in central New Jersey will use dredge materials to help shore up the coastline.  The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection announced today that sand dredged from the Little Egg Inlet for navigation purposes will be placed on the southern beaches of Long Beach Island.  The project will cost $18.4 million.

Reputed Atlantic City mobster “Skinny” Joey Merlino is back in federal court this week.  Merlino is in a federal court in New York City, this time on charges that he participated in a crime ring that involved loansharking, credit card fraud, and other issues in several states, including here in New Jersey.

REPORT: NJ BEACH TOWN TO FILE SUIT IF SUMMER BEACH NOURISMENT PROJECT ARRIVES

The mayor of one New Jersey beach community says he will file a lawsuit to stop a beach nourishment project to restore the beaches following Hurricane Sandy.  Seaside Heights Mayor Anthony Vaz is supportive of the project, but believes it will destroy his town’s summer economy if it occurs during the summer months.  NJ.com reports…

PLEASANTVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TWO CHILDREN

A 32 year old Pleasantville man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two children.  Atlantic County prosecutors announced that Sherron Scott assaulted the two children in Egg Harbor Township.  Authorities have not released the ages of the victims, nor specifically where the assaults took place.
