UPPER TOWNSHIP TO HOLD BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING MONDAY EVENING

Upper Township’s governing body will meet Monday evening to hold a workshop meeting on the new Township budget.  The meeting will begin at 6:30pm and be held one hour in advance of the regular meeting of the Township Committee.

MIDDLE TWP. COPS TO MEEET PUBLIC ON MONDAY

Middle Township Police will be meeting with the public Monday morning at a Cops and Coffee event.  The event is scheduled to be held at the Donut Connection store in Cape May Court House between the hours of 9:00-11:00am.

STATE COPS CATCH MAN WHO ROBBED WAWA IN UPPER DEERFIELD

A 49 year old Williamstown man has been arrested and charged with a robbery at a Wawa convenience store in Upper Deerfield this month.  Hiral Washington was arrested after police followed up on leads that were posted on social media.  Washington stole coffee and cigarettes from the store on January 8th.

MILLVILLE COP INDICTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE

A grand jury seated in Cape May County has indicted a special officer with the Millville Police Department on child pornography charges.  31 year old Samuel F. Brozina was arrested last summer and was charged with a third degree child endangerment offense.  The images were found on his cellphone.

NEW JERSEY MAN TRAVELS TO CALIFORNIA TO MAKE PORNO WITH 7TH GRADER

A 21 year old New Jersey man travelled to California to have sex with a seventh grade child.  Authorities say Michael Anaya-Otero flew twice to California allegedly to have sex with the child and video the encounter.  He was arrested on January 5th and could face up to 30 years in prison.

MENENDEZ TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION DESPITE RE-TRIAL ON CORRUPTION

Senator Robert Menendez says he will seek re-election this year even though the federal government will try him again on corruption charges.  The feds announced on Friday that Menendez will be subject to another trial as soon as possible; his first trial ended with a deadlocked jury.

REPORT: CAPE RANKS 10TH IN STATE FOR FLU/PNEUMONIA DEATHS

Cape May County ranks tenth in the Garden State in the number of flu and pneumonia deaths from 2005 through 2015.  NJ.com reports that there were 13.1 deaths per 100,000 people during that decade, placing us tenth on the list.  The total number of deaths from both illnesses was 23.
