A seven year old boy was struck by a motor vehicle late Tuesday afternoon in Upper Township during Trick or Treat hours. NJ.com reports that the boy was with his mother when he was struck by a GMC vehicle. The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries and was airlifted to Cooper Hospital in Camden.

A man who robbed four banks including one in Ocean City has been sentenced to 87 months in prison. 43 year old Bruce Wayne Higgins of Virginia robbed a branch of TD Bank in Ocean City and another bank in Atlantic City. Higgins must also pay nearly $24,000 in restitution.

The legal age to purchase and use cigarettes in the Garden State has increased back to 21 years of age. A new state law takes effect today that increases the smoking age to 21; it used to be 19. The restriction applies to all tobacco products and electronic smoking devices.
