Another battle is looming in the State’s plans to establish a protective dune system along the Jersey Shore. A condo association outside of Island Beach State Park now wants to block a massive dune project there; members say they should not have to give up their oceanfront property for beach protection.
Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back day, and many local police departments will take part. Police organizations in North Wildwood, Avalon, Ocean City, and other communities will accept unused or unwanted prescription drugs to be dropped off at locations in those communities. New Jersey Congressman Frank LoBiondo will host a veterans enrollment clinic on Saturday at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing. This will be the 15 clinic hosted by LoBiondo for South Jersey vets who are not yet rolled in the VA benefits and healthcare system.

Democrat Phil Murphy has earned the endorsement in the New Jersey gubernatorial race from the Newark Star-Ledger, but just barely. The newspaper endorsed Murphy today “by default”, and says he brings many of the same weaknesses that eventually doomed the political career of former governor Jon Corzine.
