Margate has struck a deal with state officials on a new drainage system and improvements for the dunes and the beach. The agreement will result in a drainage system on the beaches and dunes that will prevent problems that plagued this summer’s beach fill project that resulted in stagnant rainwater sitting on the beaches.
Ocean City is getting additional time to dredge its navigation channels. The State announced that a seasonal restriction that would have shut down the project in the fall has been lifting which will allow dredging to occur through March 1st. This will extend the dredging season for another three to five months.
A drainage improvement project is coming to a section of Bayshore Road in North Cape May that will result in one lane of traffic, starting Monday.
