Republican gubernatorial candidate Kim Guadagno tried to distance herself from her boss, Chris Christie, during the second and final gubernatorial debate on Wednesday night. Guadagno told the crowd that she disagreed with Christie on the gas tax hike, and her opponent, Phil Murphy, supported the increase.
Middle Township officials cut the ribbon on the new Ockie Wisting Recreation Complex Tuesday afternoon. The complex is a joint effort between the Township, the County of Cape May, the State of New Jersey and other organizations. It will provide many recreational opportunities for the public, and be open from dawn to dusk.
The second and last gubernatorial debate will be held this evening featuring democrat Phil Murphy and republican Kim Guadagno. All pre-election polls show Guadagno trailing Murphy by double digits, and both candidates struggling with name recognition. The election will be held November 7th.
Yurt rentals are ending at the Belleplain State Forest and at four other state parks. Philly.com reports that the rentals will disappear and be replaced by small cabins. The yurts are difficult to maintain, and can attract mold.
A resignation at the top of the ranks of the New Jersey State Police. Governor Christie announced today that Colonel Rick Fuentes has retired as the long time superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. Fuentes will likely head up the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
