A third Dollar General store is coming to Upper Township. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Township’s planning board approved a site plan for the store to be located on Route 50. The meeting ran long with citizens objecting to the construction of the store, citing traffic and property value concerns.
A man approached a woman in Berkeley, New Jersey earlier this month and asked to pet her dog. Just one problem, he exposed himself as he did so. Police in the community are looking for the suspect who approached the woman and exposed himself; no suspects are in custody.

Cape May will have a public discussion regarding new FEMA flood maps for the city during a special meeting to be held at the Cape May Convention Center on October 11th. The discussion will begin at 6:30pm; engineer Tom Thornton of Mott MacDonald will make the presentation.
Welcome “Walter” the camel to the Cape May County Park and Zoo. Freeholder Marie Hayes announced that the new camel came from Animal Adventure Park in New York. Walter is a Bactrain camel and is six months old Bactrain camels have two humps, not one.
Absegami High School was locked down for a brief time Wednesday morning after one student threatened another with what turned out to be a fake gun. Authorities locked down the high school and two other nearby schools until police arrived and determined that the gun was not real. A teenage high school student was arrested.
A popular Wawa convenience store in Ventnor will close before the weekend. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Wawa located on Dorset Avenue will close for good late Thursday night. The company says the store simply cannot deliver the customer experience that it tries to provide in other locations.
