New Jersey Task Force One is being deployed to help with hurricane relief in Florida. Governor Christie on Friday ordered the task force to deploy to the Elgin Air Force Base in Florida to help residents get through Hurricane Irma.
Two Texas men have been sentenced to long prison sentences for peddling drugs in an operation based in Atlantic County. New Jersey Attorney General Christopher Porrino say the two men will serve a combined 21 years in prison after they were caught with 11 pounds of cocaine in a duffel bag.
Two people are dead as a result of a helicopter crash at a South Jersey airport on Friday. Authorities say the chopper crashed at the Flying W Airport in Medford, Burlington County. The occupants of the helicopter were two adult males; their identities have not yet been released.
The Raging Waters water park on Morey’s Schellenger Landing pier goes to the dogs, literally, on Sunday. Sunday is the final day for the water park to be open and Morey’s Piers invites dog owners to bring their canines for some water fun. Proceeds from the event benefit a local animal charity.

A former housing director in Ocean City has received three years probation for stealing public funds. 54 year old Alesia Watson was in court Thursday and received the light sentence for using public money to purchase 69 gift cards for family and friends.
