A Millville man who killed his father over a lid belonging to a teapot eight years ago has been denied his appeal. Dreu Ferguson Jr. was convicted of killing his father, then covering the body with lime and buried his father under the back porch of the family home. ##

Three Cumberland County men have pleaded guilty to dogfighting crimes. Authorities say the three men shipped dogs across the country so they could fight to their death. 40 year old Frank Nichols of Millville, 36 year old Anthony Gaines and 32 year old Lydell Harris, both of Vineland, were involved in the crimes. ##

Lower Township Police say they will be going after drunk and impaired drivers during a crackdown that starts August 18th and runs through Labor Day Weekend. Police will participate in the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” national campaign. ##
Another home invasion burglary was reported in Hamilton Township. Township police say it happened early Friday morning in the Cologne Garden Apartments. Cops say three black males wearing all black clothing burst into the apartment and stole items; two handguns were produced by the suspects. ##
