The Avalon Borough Council held its reorganization meeting Friday afternoon. John McCorristin was named the new president of Council during the meeting. McCorristin, Dr. Nancy Hudanich, and James Deever all were sworn in to office by Mayor Marty Pagliughi. ##

Governor Christie is calling for a full investigation into the cause of a trail derailment at Penn Station. Christie says the safety of New Jersey residents requires an investigation into the slow speed derailment that caused delays this morning, but no injuries. ##
The Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City is about to become part of the Tropicana family. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Tropicana will purchase the Chelsea Hotel and connect both properties via a skyway bridge. ##
