Bridgeton Police report that two men were shot at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 100 block of Cottage Avenue. The gunshot wounds were not life-threatening. A fire continued to burn on Monday at the Cape May County MUA sewage treatment building. The fire started in some compost and burned for four straight days, beginning on Friday evening. The compost apparently spontaneously combusted which started the smoldering fire. There have been no injuries.
