Democrat Vince Mazzeo in, republican John Amedeo is out in Atlantic County. Provisional ballots in their razor-close election were counted on Monday and it give Mazzeo a 38 vote margin of victory in a hotly contested race. The vote count will likely be certified by 3pm on Tuesday.

It’s a welcome home for the crew of the Coast Guard cutter “Vigorous”, which returned to its home port on Sunday. Family members welcomed the crew home following a 48-day tour of duty. The cutter was on a drug and counter-human trafficking mission in the Carribean Sea.

An Assembly committee advanced a bill that would require most police cars to have cameras to protect the public against false accusations. Three New Jersey pharmacists, including one from South Jersey, no longer have licenses because they peddled illegal prescription drugs. The three pharmacists were suspended for passing out oxycodone and other drugs to patients who didn’t need them. A Lower Township man has plead guilty to possessing child pornography. Aaron N. Debarardnis, 26, of Lower Township, pleaded guilty to second-degree distribution of child pornography. The state will recommend that he be sentenced to three years in prison. Authorities say he used him home computer to share images of child pornography.
