WOMAN COPS PLEA IN DUI ACCIDENT

A 26 year old South Jersey woman pleaded guilty Monday to drunk driving and other offenses in connection to a traffic accident that caused about one fifth of Cape May County to lose power back in March.  Denise Pomkacz of Burlington City was in court Monday and admitted that she was intoxicated when her vehicle ran into a pole in Whitesboro on March 27th.  The accident knocked out power to about 18,000 customers of Atlantic City Electric for several hours, causing many businesses to shut down until power was restored.  She has lost her driver’s license for three months and must pay over $1,000 in court costs.
