WILDWOOD CREST TO HOST SIXERS HOOPS TOUR

200px-Philadelphia76ersThe 14th annual Philadelphia 76ers Summer Hoops Tour will make a stop at the Wildwood Crest Pier Recreation Center Monday, July 26 at 10 a.m.

The Summer Hoops Tour, led by Sixers Ambassador of Basketball and former NBA All-Star World B. Free, offers children instruction on the basic fundamental of basketball, tips on how to improve their game and advice on the importance of education. In addition to basketball instruction, children will also have an opportunity to interact with popular Sixers mascot Hip-Hop.

Sixers’ front office staff and Hoops Tour coaches will assist Free in coaching the basic fundamentals of the game, including passing, shooting, dribbling, defense and conditioning.

Free was a 1975 draft pick of the Sixers and spent 13 seasons in the NBA with five different teams. An NBA All-Star when he averaged an astounding 30.2 points per game with the San Diego Clippers in 1979-80, Free is ranked 49th all-time in NBA history with 17,955 points. He appeared in 886 games over his career, averaging 20.3 points and 3.7 assists per game.The Summer Hoops Tour stop in Wildwood Crest is free and open to children of all ages.
