On Thursday the West Jersey Football League rejected a request from the Cape-Atlantic League to join their ranks. Officials from the WJFL voted down the request by a vote of 51-14 with one abstention. The WJFL was formed in 2010 by teams from the Olympic and Tri-County Conferences, Burlington and Mercer Counties. Next year Hammonton High School will leave the C.A.L. to join the West Jersey Football League. The C.A.L. can reapply for entry in two years.
