WEEKEND STORM ELEVATES LEVEL OF BACTERIA IN OCEAN WATER

Heavy rainfall events often result in a temporary rise in bacteria in ocean water, and that’s exactly what has happened on several local beaches.  Some select beaches in Cape May, Lower Township, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, and Atlantic City all tested for higher than acceptable levels of fecal coliform bacteria.  Another water sample is taken before any beaches must be closed.
