VLT PROPOSAL MADE TO GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE FOR MEADOWLANDS

A group has offered the state $600 million for the right to put video lottery terminals in the Meadowlands, according to a report by NorthJersey.com. The group is called, Global Enterprises Meadowlands, which wishes to operate 5,000 of these terminals in the racetrack. The proposal also includes $100 million to take over operations of the track and allow them to build up to seven off-track-betting operations. According to the report, $500 million would be upfront and would be paid by June 30, 2011.
