VINELAND LOOKING AT EIGHT CENT INCREASE TO BUDGET

Vineland city officials are considering an eight-cent increase to the budget. City Council is reviewing a plan that would place the tax rate at $1.34 per $100 assessed valuation. Unless dramatic changes are made, the eight cents appears to be the lowest the city can get the tax rate. Discussions are on-going with unions to try and freeze pay, but none of the unions have agreed to any concessions. A vote is expected at the next meeting on the proposed increase.
