A bill to temporarily save the Vineland Developmental Center is on the desk of Gov. Chris Christie again. Christie had conditionally vetoed the initial legislation to create a task force to look into which developmental center in the state should be closed. State Senator Jeff Van Drew told Coastal Broadcasting that the Senate and Assembly signed off on the changes and put the measure back on Christie’s desk. The center had been scheduled to close, but Van Drew got support to get a task force formed to see which center would be the best if closed.
