The hopes to bring sports betting to New Jersey is almost dead, but the key word is almost. There will be one final attempt to fight the federal ban on sports betting and a recent veto to remove laws that prohibit it in the state. A veto override vote will take place on Sept. 22. Sen. Ray Lesniak is pushing the latest attempt, as Atlantic City is set to lose three casinos in the next month and roughly 8,000 jobs.
