VETERAN STATE LAWMAKER, JOHN BROWN, 84

A veteran New Jersey lawmaker who helped bring casino gaming to Atlantic City has died at the age of 84.  John F. Brown passed away last Wednesday in Florida.  Brown served as the mayor of Lakewood before moving on to positions in the New Jersey Assembly and New Jersey Senate in the 1960’s and 70’s.  Brown helped draft legislation that enabled casino gaming in Atlantic City and brought the state lottery to New Jersey.
