VAN PELT FOUND GUILTY ON CORRUPTION CHARGES

VanPeltA former assemblyman has been found guilty of corruption, following an FBI sting last summer. Daniel Van Pelt was one of the 44 people arrested by the FBI during a sting last year. He was charged with taking a $10,000 bribe, and on Wednesday, he was found guilty. A sentencing date has been set for Aug. 24. Van Pelt claims he was working as a consultant. He now faced a possibility of 30 years in jail. Van Pelt had served out of the 9th district.
