VAN DREW: CLOSING VINELAND DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER COULD IMPACT JOBS IN WOODBINE

vandrewThere are only seven developmental centers in New Jersey. The Vineland Developmental Center is slated to be closed under Gov. Chris Christie’s budget proposal. Should this proposal go through, a local official says some jobs in Woodbine could be on the line. State Senator Jeff Van Drew says that some of workers in Vineland with bumping rights could take jobs away from workers at the Woodbine Developmental Center. Van Drew has noted that about 1,000 jobs are on the line and is pushing for this developmental center to stay open.
