VAN DREW: CHRISTIE SHOULD COLLECTIVELY BARGAIN HEALTH BENEFITS

vandrewA dispute is taking place in Trenton over health benefits for public workers. The Communications Worker’s of America want any changes to health benefits to be collectively bargained and even presented a plan with some givebacks in them regarding health benefits. Gov. Chris Christie wants lawmakers to change the rules. State Senator Jeff Van Drew told Coastal Broadcasting that the Senate should only step in if a deal can’t be reached by the two sides. A real effort must be made to collectively bargain on this issue, according to Van Drew, who noted Christie said he enjoyed collective bargaining.
