A pair of local communities are preparing to provide free beach tags for veterans this summer. Avalon and Stone Harbor are both moving towards this change, in accordance with new state law that allows towns to offer this option. State Senator Jeff Van Drew was a sponsor of the bill to make it legal and applauded the towns for their early adoption. The law was born out of Sea Isle City, where the local VFW group bought beach tags for veterans who wanted them so they would be free for them.
