UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS DOWN TO 26 WEEKS

The federal government failed to act on an extension and unemployment benefits for those who file will only receive it for 26 weeks. Previously, the benefits were available for 99 weeks. The change becomes effective today. Unemployment has been trending downwards, but slowly. There is still 9.2 percent unemployment in New Jersey.
