TWO TYPES OF STUN GUNS APPROVED FOR — USE BY AUTHORITIES

150px-NJOAG_svgAttorney General Paula T. Dow cleared the way for police departments in New Jersey to purchase and deploy stun guns by announcing specific devices which have been tested and found to meet the criteria set forth in her revised policy governing the use of stun guns. An approved training program for police has been developed to meet the requirements of the new policy. Two types of stun guns have been approved for purchase by law enforcement. More may be added to the list in the future if they meet the standards set forth by this department.
