TWO PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN AT CAPE MAY LEWES FERRY

Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials announced that Stan Hansen of Lower Township, New Jersey and Peter Dudley of Cape May, New Jersey were promoted to the rank of Captain effective Sunday, February 24, 2013.  Captain Hansen and Captain Dudley report to Port Captain Bryan Helm.

Prior to joining the Cape May – Lewes Ferry, Hansen worked in the area’s commercial fishing industry for fourteen years.  During this time period, he also owned and operated five different successful commercial fishing vessels from 1979-1989.  Hansen joined the Cape May – Lewes Ferry operation in 1988 and was promoted to permanent Mate ten years later.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, Dudley served as a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1966-1968.  Following two years of service with Bay Ship Management, Dudley was hired as an Able-bodied Seaman at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry in 1995.  Dudley has more than 40 years of maritime experience.
