TWO BIG CONTRACTS AWARDED IN WOODBINE

Two contracts have been awarded in Woodbine totaling $650,000. The Woodbine Port Authority awarded a contract for Phase 1 of the apron expansion project at Woodbine Municipal Airport to South State, Inc., low bidder at $398,351.75 .Other bidders were: Agate Construction and Mathis Construction. The Borough of Woodbine awarded a contract for the Safe Routes to Schools project, at the May 5 Council meeting. Contract was awarded to Charles Marandino, LLC, with a low bid of $258,350.07

The project will be funded by a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant in the amount of $275,000 under the Safe Routes to Schools Program. This grant will go to the next phase, Infrastructure, portion of the Woodbine Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program, which is comprised of three inter-related projects. These funds were made available through the SAFETEA-LU federal legislation.

“Both of these projects are not only important from a safety perspective, but also come at as a great economic opportunity to move our community goals further along,” noted Woodbine Mayor William Pikolycky.
