TOWNSEND’S INLET BRIDGE TO REMAIN CLOSED FOR UP TO TWO WEEKS

The Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City was supposed to open again on Thursday.  It’s not happening.  Cape May County Engineer Dale Foster says the bridge will remain closed up to May 15th for additional repairs.  Bad winter weather and more deterioration under the bridge has resulted in the bridge saying closed for about two more weeks to allow the contractor to conduct the repairs.  That bridge has been closed since February.
