TOURISM CONFERENCE TO BE HELD NEXT WEEK IN CAPE MAY COUNTY

The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host the annual Tourism Conference on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the County Administration Building located at 4 Moore Road in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. 

This year’s theme is Defining the Region – Marketing the Opportunities.  The conference which is free and open to the public will feature a variety of speakers and topics. A statewide tourism perspective will be provided by Assemblyman Matt Milam, Chair of the Assembly Tourism and the Arts Committee, Destination Marketing Organizations will be the topic of F. Phyllis Oppenheimer of the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, Regional Partnerships will be addressed by Cumberland County Freeholder Director Louis Magazzu and Joseph Savaro of the New Jersey Motorsport Park will talk about opportunities for Cape May County businesses.

Also, Diane F. Wieland, Director of the Cape May County Department of Tourism will discuss the results of the annual survey conducted on tourism spending trends.  Following the conference, The New Jersey Assembly Tourism and the Arts Committee will hold a public hearing in the Freeholders’ Meeting Room.
