THREE SEA ISLE CITY PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEES SENT TO HOSPITAL

A chemical reaction took place in the back of a municipal garbage truck in Sea Isle City. Three public works employees were sent to the Cape Regional Hospital for an evaluation as a result. The Sea Isle City Fire Department, Ocean View Fire Department, and Cape May County Hazmat Team responded to the scene. It was discovered that bottles of Acetone and Muriatic acid along with bleach and other chemicals were placed in the trash and reacted together. The employees were said to have gone to the hospital for precautionary measures.
