THOUSANDS OF TEACHERS GO ON STRIKE TODAY IN JERSEY CITY

Nearly 4,000 educators did not show up for work Friday morning in Jersey City and instead picked up picket signs, and went on strike.  It’s the first teachers’ strike in Jersey City in nearly two decades.  Teachers have been working under a contract that expired in September, 2017 and have failed to reach any substantive progress in contract negotiations.
