THOUSANDS STILL WITHOUT POWER IN CAPE MAY COUNTY

Thousands of customers are still without electrical power in Cape May County on Wednesday morning after crews from Atlantic City Electric worked through the night. Power to some areas may not be restored until Thursday, as crews continue to cleanup from a powerful storm that blew through the area around 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Wildwood Fire Department responded to 31 incidents in a two-hour period, including structure fires, downed trees and a boater in distress. In Lower Township, a tree took down a telephone pole and badly damaged another at the intersection of Seashore Road and Mayflower Avenue.
