TALKS OF EXPANDING CAPE MAY REST STOP BEGINNING

The rest stop in Cape May County may be staying open later in the future. A meeting is being held next week to discuss the potential of once again keeping the rest stop on the Garden State Parkway open longer in the day and provide more services. Assembly Matt Milam, Cape May County Tourism Director Diane Wieland, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Vicki Clark, and a state represenative will be hand to discuss the future of the rest stop and how it can be kept open longer. Milam said that travelers would benefit from having a rest area with bathrooms stay open later. The discussions are still in the early phases. The rest area also serves as a welcome center for the county.
