SWEENEY: GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN TO LAST AT LEAST A DAY

Senate President Steve Sweeney announced that the government shutdown will drag into at least July 4th which means state-run beaches and parks will remain closed for the holiday. Sweeney says the shutdown cannot end today even if an agreement were reached because a bill still needs to be drafted. Sweeney announced Monday the earliest the shutdown could end is Tuesday evening.
