SUSPICIOUS BACKPACK IN VINELAND DEEMED HARMLESS

On Monday afternoon a suspicious backpack was tossed from a vehicle on Main Road near the Newfield National Bank electronic sign. Twelve businesses were evacuated and several nearby streets were closed off for three hours while the Atlantic City Bomb Squad conducted an investigation. The bag was deemed a non-hazard, as it was found to contain an assortment of electrical and automotive parts, according Vineland Police.
