STONE HARBOR REJECTS PLAN TO CHOP DUNES FOR BEACH SAND

Stone Harbor’s council held a special meeting Thursday to formally reject a plan that would have topped sand and vegetation from dunes for a mini beach fill project.  Stone Harbor is handcuffed for a hydraulic fill in part due to a restriction to use sand in Hereford Inlet imposed by Fish and Wildlife..even though millions of cubic yards of usable sand sit in the Inlet as a result of..you guessed it..beach fills.
