STATE WILL STILL MAKE PENSION PAYMENT

120px-Seal_of_New_Jersey_svgGov. Chris Christie made a deal with lawmakers. They didn’t hold up their end but he is going to hold up his. State Treasurer Andrew Eristoff told the Senate Budget committee this week that the state will make a $500 million contribution to the pension system, whether or not lawmakers make changes to the pension system. Christie had promised to make the payment before the end of the budget year if workers were required to pay more of their pension. So far the legislature has not made significant progress on that legislation.
