STATE POISED TO TAKE AGGRESSIVE STANCE ON BAGS, STRAWS, AND STYROFOAM

State lawmakers have sent a new law to the desk of Governor Phil Murphy that would eliminate many single use plastic and paper bags in the Garden State.  Plastic straws would only be available in restaurants upon request.  Some local towns, including Avalon and Stone Harbor, have been years ahead of the state on the elimination of single-use plastics.
