Beach money is coming to Avalon and Sea Isle City. The word came down from Trenton on Tuesday that 75 percent of the joint beach fill project between the two communities will be funded by the state. The two municipalities were ready to split the cost when no dollars were available from the state. Avalon Mayor Marty Pagliughi told Coastal Broadcasting he believes this shows a turn in the state’s attitude towards beach projects, coupled with the full $25 million funding available for beach replenishment projects for the upcoming fiscal year.
