SOUTH JERSEY BLOOD SUPPLY NEEDS A BOOST

The American Red Cross issued an emergency call for blood donations on Tuesday, as they say blood is in short supply in South Jersey and many other areas of the country. Blood donations typically drop off during the summer season but Red Cross officials claim the blood shortage this year is happening several weeks earlier than normal. This year a new restriction is in place due to the Zika virus; blood donations will not be accepted from people who have visited a Zika virus-affected country within four weeks.
