SIX NJ DEATHS LINKED TO IRENE

Hurricane Irene has claimed six victims in New Jersey. The Associated Press reports that a man’s body was found at 10:40am Monday in a jetty of the Manasquan River inlet. The man was identified as 25 year-old Jorge Hernandez of Point Pleasant Beach. A second man’s body was found about 2 hours later in a nearby area of the inlet and has not yet been identified. Police in Wanaque reported the death of 39 year old Scott Palecek due to flooding.Palecek was inspecting an athletic field when a pipe broke loose and swept him away. Police say he drowned and was found 100 feet away from the field.
