SHOULD STATE WORKERS BE PAID DURING GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN?

Should state employees be paid for time they didn’t work during the state government shutdown this month? Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto is asking the governor to use his executive authority to pay the workers; if that fails, the Senate will take up a new bill Thursday that would compensate nearly 35,000 workers for time missed.
