SHOOTING KILLS MAN IN ATLANTIC CITY

One man is dead and another is injured in an early morning shooting on Saturday in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel stated.

Atlantic City police responded to a report of shots fired sometime around 5 a.m. The victim, Shamir Harper, suffered two gunshot wounds after leaving Coconutz, an establishment at 30 S. Florida Avenue. The victim ran down Pacific Avenue, flagged down a motorist and was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Atlantic City police spotted the alleged shooter running with a weapon on the boardwalk at Florida Avenue and Beach Avenue. The suspect, Naheen Hogans-Henderson, 24, of the 1100 block of City Place in Atlantic City, shot himself once in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene. Notification of next of kin has been made. The Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was notified at 5:18 a.m. and responded to the scene. ACPO detectives are conducting the investigation with the assistance of the Atlantic City Police Department.
