SEVEN YEAR OLD CHILD FALLS AT LOCAL CAMPGROUND

Middle Township PoliceThe following is a press release issued Friday afternoon by the Middle Township Police Department:

On Friday July 16, 2010, at approximately 2PM, Middle Township Police communications operators received a “911” rescue call, to respond to the Shellbay Campground, for a 7yr old child that fell from a pool ladder.

Patrolman Armond Jones, along with Middle Township Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare Paramedics, immediately responded to the scene.  Upon their arrival, it was learned that the child fell approximately (10) feet from a ladder, leading to a “waterslide” attraction, and landed on the concrete surface below.

The child’s parents were present and tended to the child, who was conscious, until rescue units could arrive on-scene. The victim was then flown to Cooper Trauma Center, by a Southstar medevac helicopter, for a head injury.
