An Atlantic City man was sentenced to 8 years in prison on Friday September 9, for various charges including attempted murder, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.
On July 19, 2011, Lamar Gresham, 22, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, as well as charges from an unrelated indictment for unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Gresham must serve 85-percent of the 8-year prison term, or 6 years and 8 months, subject to the No Early Release Act (NERA), before becoming eligible for parole. Following his release, Gresham will be placed on supervised parole for an additional five years.
