SENATE COMMITTEE APPROVES PENSION BILL

120px-Seal_of_New_Jersey_svgMore than two dozen union members were arrested in Trenton Thursday as they protested a new bill designed to change the pension and health benefit system for public workers.  The Senate Budget Committee approved a new bill on Thursday to change the system after four hours of hearings.  Among those voting in favor of the bill, Cape May County State Senator Jeff Van Drew.  The full Senate and the Assembly Budget Committee will both tackle the bill on Monday.
