New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez appeared in Ocean City today to talk about the major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Menendez appeared at the Ocean City Music Pier and called again for the federal government to lift the federal liability cap on companies like British Petroleum who are responsible for major environmental disasters. Menendez says the cap stands at $75 million, while the damage from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico could exceed $1 billion.
